Today's topic is about Face Primers. I dont like using foundation primer coz they dont prevent oil break outs. Instead they add to the build up of oil on your face after application. Currently this is what the girls and i are using:
Sephora's Anti-Shine Primer

For $30 its amazing! No oily face for at least 5 hours. And it really does hold your make up and gives it a polished look.
Today i was blog hopping and i was reading about another product that seems to work the same as Sephora's anti-shine primer.
Monistat's Chafing Relief Powder-Gel

The key word is "Chafing"! You may ask "Why the hell would i use this on my face when its for relieving areas that tend to get sore thanks to friction" aka "Melecet!" Apparently this gel does a better job on the face because it contains a ton of dimethicone which is the key, active ingredient in all expensive primers. Dimethicone creates a barrier for your skin which evens out your skin's surface much the same way you use a base coat on your nails before applying color.
Pros:
· Dries to a powder finish.
· Creates a matte surface so makeup glides on and stays on.
· Smooths out large pores, uneven skin tone and blemishes.
· Prevents breakouts.
· Allows for much smoother for eye shadow application on mature skin.
· Keeps make-up looking fresh by locking it in.
· Makes your face look youthful and dewy.
· Helps concealer glide on.
· Doesn't feel greasy.
· Helps mineral make up last longer and look less cakey.
· Makeup stays on for 8+ hours, looking as good as when first applied.
· Excellent mattifier on top of any cream/lotion/sunscreen.
· Fragrance free.
· Non-irritating.
· Non-toxic.
· Non-staining
· Smooths skin texture which reflects light & eliminates shadows (so you look younger)
· Tasteless (if someone kisses your cheek)
· Non-pore-clogging (non-comedogenic)
· Keeps your makeup fresh in 100+ degree heat (great for spore's weather)
· Gentle enough to use every day.
· Softens appearance of fine lines.
Cons:
· Made by Monistat - not a name you associate with makeup.
· Doesn't contain sunscreen.
· Isnt sold in Singapore and in the States its normally sold out!
Now this cost about sgd$11 for 1.5 oz as compared to Sephora's sgd$30 for 1 oz. But this damn thing isnt sold here! BUTTTTTT, there is this gurl who is selling it online for sgd$20. (i guess the price hike is justifiable since she is the sole carrier of this product in spore)
Should we try?? Or just wait till we go to the states and get it there!?
